Netball young gun spurred on by injury
| Being sidelined from netball for two months this year with a broken foot made Nichole Shepherd realise how important the sport was to her. "It was the first huge injury I have had and to just sit on the sideline watching the team was so frustrating." Nichole (pictured above) says. The Year 12 student at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart College. Enfield. was this month selected for the Open State Catholic Girls Netball Squad. for the third year. |
She will head to Brisbane with the team in September to compete against four other states. Nichole. who started netball aged seven, represented SA last year at the national championships in Canberra. "It was the best time of my life and South Australia's first win in 11 years." Nichole, of Mawson Lakes, also plays goal attack for the Adelaide Cougars in the Intermediate one team. "We are undefeated at the moment so I'm pretty happy." |
